About

Sardinia

Sardinia is the second-largest island in Italy and is situated in the middle of the Mediterranean. It is immediately to the south of Corsica (which belongs to France). It can be reached in 5 hours by ferry from Rome, 7 from Nice or by plane from several different international airports.

Su Porcheddu. Among the most famous meat dishes on the island and a real countryside tradition, Su Porcheddu is better known as roast suckling pig, usually cooked on a spit for up to five hours.

Puglia is home to some Sardinians who are famous for their daily consumption of the robust, regional red wine called Cannonau. Cannonau wine has two to three times the level of artery-scrubbing flavonoids as other wines. Beautiful reds such as Primitivo di Salento and Negroamaro.
